Dreamforce 2016 officially kicks off Tuesday, October 4th, and RelationEdge is counting down the days! The majority of attendees will arrive the weekend before or on that Monday, since the sessions begin at 8 AM on Tuesday. Dreamforce is officially SOLD-OUT this year, you can no longer purchase a full-conference pass. Only those who have a conference code can still register to attend.
Check-in and badge pickups will be begin on Monday 10/3 and held at these three campus locations:
- Moscone West
- Marriott Marquis
- Hilton Union Square
Note that the Dreamforce Bag pickup is at Moscone North. Check the Dreamforce site for exact times.
Marc Benioff’s “Be a Customer Trailblazer” keynote is scheduled for Wednesday, 10/5 at 1 PM. Seating will be limited, which is why there will be viewing locations throughout the Dreamforce Campus. In fact, there are several Salesforce Community User Groups that are hosting viewing parties, those remote locations are called “Dreamforce Outposts”!
- Dreamforce Outpost: Chicago User Group Viewing Party
Attendees will be #StruckbyLightning everywhere they turn. All sessions and demos will be presented in Lightning. There is still a way to go for Lightning to catch-up with functionality readily available in aloha/classic, but I would highly suggest attending one of the Lightning Roadmap sessions to get a clear vision on what’s coming and what the estimated timeframe is.
Salesforce is also offering customers Lightning Ready Consults. Attendees will need to sign-up (under sessions) in advance to get it scheduled. It will be a 20-minute 1:1 session to evaluate if your org is Lightning Ready, and what the next steps should be.
Lightning Bolt is an exciting time for customers who are considering a Community Implementation. This new AppExchange category will allow customers to seek out ready to use templates for certain industry specific needs. There will also be pre-built components created and available for download, some for free others for a fee. Attendees interested in learning more should attend the:
- Community Cloud Roadmap session Tuesday, 10/4 at 10:30 AM.
On September 19th, Salesforce announced to the world that it was about to make the Smartest CRM with artificial intelligence (AI) by embedding it into the Salesforce Platform. Salesforce Einstein delivers advanced AI capabilities into sales, service, marketing and more, empowering companies to deliver more personalized and predictive customer experiences. And you can bet, we will learn a lot more about what these capabilities are during their designated keynote and at Moscone West. Also take some time to visit the Einstein Discovery Center.
- Einstein Keynote: AI for Everyone – Thursday, October 6th – 3:00 – 4:00 PM
If you’ve attended Dreamforce in the past years, you will recall the Admin Zone which takes up residency in Moscone West. This year, the zone will be labeled the Admin Meadow, and of course there will be plenty Trailhead characters and jargon included. Don’t forget to take the Quest, and once complete stop by the trading post to collect your prize!
The Admin Meadow is also where the “Ask the Experts” Demo stations are located, 38 to be exact, all demo’s in Lightning! If you are in need of a new professional headshot, you’re in luck! There will be a Headshot Studio setup for you to come in and get photographed!
Come stop by the Welcome Desk, I’ll be on duty Thursday afternoon, starting at 1 PM!

These sessions are unscripted, consultative, roundtable discussions where like-minded Salesforce customers come together to share and learn from each-other. I have the honor of moderating on the topic of Adoption, Tuesday, 10/4. Grab your lunch and find the table with the topic that speaks to you.
- Hilton Union Square, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 12 PM – 1 PM
New to Dreamforce?
A great resource for newbies is the Dreamforce ‘16 Ready Trailhead module. It walks you through what to plan for and how to optimize your time effectively while attending. You can even earn yourself a badge!
This year Dreamforce has partnered with (RED), an organization started by Bono and Bobby Shriver with the mission of creating awareness and raising funds to deliver the first AIDS-free generation. The Dreamforce fundraising goal is one million dollars to help fight and find a cure for AIDS.
Each day there will also be a #DFGives charitable activity planned. A new theme each day that will provide all attendees to give back in a different way. Check the Dreamforce site out for more details!
