This month, RelationEdge celebrates its fifth anniversary. As we reflect on our first five years of business, we’re grateful for the relationships we’ve built and extremely proud of the achievements of our team. What started as an ambitious three-man operation in San Diego in 2013 has grown into a nationwide organization of 125 employees and counting. Our rapid growth has allowed us to expand our service offerings to deliver more value to our clients. This year, we also had the honor of achieving Salesforce Platinum Status.
We asked our Founder and CEO Matt Stoyka to discuss just some of the highlights from the last five years at RelationEdge, and what we can expect in the years to come.
Growing from State to State
RelationEdge may have begun as a San Diego-based team of three, but today the company looks a little different. When the opportunity arose to serve clients outside of San Diego, the RelationEdge team didn’t hesitate. “Salesforce needed help in other markets, which gave us the opportunity to expand geographically with a similar model,” explains Stoyka. The company introduced regionally-focused Market Presidents to help deliver the same level of personalized service to clients in other cities.
Through the dedicated efforts of our Market Presidents and the regional teams, RelationEdge was able to extend its presence across the U.S. In addition to the San Diego corporate headquarters, RelationEdge now has offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Irvine, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Minneapolis. “We will continue to expand our geographic footprint in 2018 and beyond,” adds Stoyka.
The headquarters has also changed location a few times. While still based in sunny San Diego, RelationEdge moved into its new Sorrento Valley office at the start of 2018 to make space for the growing team. Employee growth between January 2017 and January 2018 was a staggering 26.3%, and we continue to hire rapidly. Since the start of the year, another 29 employees have joined our team and we plan to hire even more remarkable employees moving forward.
When asked how RelationEdge has grown so fast, Stoyka has a simple answer: “We continue to focus on relationships. We put ‘relation’ in the name of the company because that’s the most important thing to us: our relationships with our clients and the ability to help our clients manage their relationships with their customers.”
Becoming a Full-Service Partner
For the first four years of business, RelationEdge focused on providing implementation, engineering, and managed services for Sales Cloud and Service Cloud — the two core cloud technologies at Salesforce. In 2017, RelationEdge added digital marketing capabilities, becoming a full-service provider that helps clients maintain successful relationships with their customers at every stage of the path from lead to loyalty.
We did this by incorporating the skills of both creative digital marketing specialists and technology experts. In November 2017, RelationEdge acquired Main Path Marketing, a digital agency with a strong storytelling edge that creates and promotes content to drive the entire lead process. In the same month, RelationEdge added Marketing Cloud as its third core focus, hiring a team of Salesforce Marketing Cloud experts to leverage this powerful technology. Together, the agency and Marketing Cloud executives have become RelationEdge Digital Agency (REDA).
“There are a lot of Salesforce partners that have Marketing Cloud practices and there are a lot of partners that have digital agencies, but there aren’t a lot of partners that have both,” Stoyka notes. “We see this addition to RelationEdge as one of our high-growth opportunities and a very substantial part of our business.”
Going Platinum and Beyond
Within less than four years of operation, RelationEdge achieved Salesforce’s Gold Partner Status, but the company didn’t stop there. With support and partnership from Salesforce and the hard work of our team members, we strove for even higher goals. Less than a year later, in March 2018, the company earned Platinum Partner Status. This prestigious accolade takes into account various factors including client successes, our employees’ certifications, and overall customer satisfaction. Platinum Status is emblematic of RelationEdge’s commitment to its clients, partners, and Salesforce.
We’re proud to have accomplished so much in only five years, and we’re focused on driving even more success in the years to come. “Achieving Platinum Status gives us the motivation to work even harder,” says Stoyka. “Now we can bring our full range of services to clients, develop our skills, and deliver more value.”
