In the weeks leading up to Dreamforce, there was a lot of news and discussion about Salesforce Einstein – Salesforce’s push into artificial intelligence (AI). Many of our clients have been starting to dabble in AI over the last year or so – to predict which sales opportunities are most likely to close, for example. These predictive tools continue to evolve and mature, so heading to Dreamforce I was very curious to learn more about Einstein.
Many news reports had speculated that Einstein would not be a separate Salesforce “Cloud” product. Those predictions proved true – Einstein will be incorporated throughout the Salesforce platform. There were some really interesting demonstrations of Einstein integration within existing Salesforce products on display at Dreamforce, including:
- Sales: predicting sales outcomes, such as the likelihood of closing and expected revenue
- Service: suggesting solutions to customer service and technical issues
- Marketing: creating dynamic and predictive paths for individual prospects based on their behavior
- Apps: embedding intelligence within custom apps
There are a lot of outstanding questions about Einstein, such as rollout timeframes and pricing structure. We look forward to learning more about these details and how Einstein will help our clients manage their data more effectively and intelligently.
Einstein was just part of the new solutions and offerings at Dreamforce this year. There were many other exciting changes and offerings displayed and addressed – including Commerce Cloud, Quip, and others. The pace of innovation continues to accelerate. It will be exciting to see how the Salesforce platform evolves over the coming months and years!
