When Salesforce decided to completely revamp their UI to provide more options for customization, they went all-in. Salesforce has now taken almost every aspect of their platform a step further with the goal of making it possible for companies to offer all the great things we love about Salesforce to their customers.
The Introduction of My
Dreamforce’s biggest prefix this year was “my” with the introduction of Salesforce personalization tools and “my” themed products; myLightning, mySalesforce, myEinstein, myIoT and myTrailhead.
myLightning provides companies the Theming and Design System to specify the brand image, colors, backgrounds and more to ensure the look and feel of the Lightning UI aligns with their brand. MyLighting comes with built-in themes, or admins can create almost 300 custom themes to customize their look.
mySalesforce provides a mostly click-based app development tool that makes it easy for companies to create, brand, deploy, and list their apps on the Google Play and App Stores. This resonates with customers as it empowers them to build an app fast, and deploy it to every corner of their business.
myEinstein allows admins to create AI models on any custom Salesforce field or object to predict business outcomes. This data is actionable and allows users to create workflows to alert users and drive business decisions. This tool also gives users the ability to create chatbots that can free up agents by providing answers quickly to customers.
myIoT is a product driven by the Salesforces modus operandi (MO) of “clicks over code.” This tool allows the complete automation of workflow through clicks rather than needing to bring in a developer. IoT makes it easy to connect devices, sensor and application data to the Salesforce Platform, allowing communication between systems and devices that can help preemptively manage workflow.
myTrailhead enables companies to bring the power of module-based training and gamification to their learning environments. As technology and innovation continue to break down barriers, it is getting harder to keep up. With myTrailhead, PowerPoints and workbooks are a thing of the past.
Other Dreamforce News
A strategic partnership between Google and Salesforce was also announced at Dreamforce, with a promise of new integrations that connect Salesforce with Google Analytics 360 and G Suite. Salesforce continues to invest in creating vertical-specific applications such as Commerce Cloud for retailers and Health Cloud for hospitals, including one of its newest and less-known applications HEDA for Higher Education. This verticalization, along with continued improvement to Lightning, Einstein, and more ways for “clicks over code” seems to be the trend.
Dreamforce was a success and Salesforce continues to astound us with their innovations.
